As much as I enjoy photographing weddings, I equally enjoy being a guest from time to time. Two special friends (and former RIT crew teammates!) were married this weekend in beautiful Lake George, New York. I showed much restraint, trying to enjoy the event without a camera pressed to my face the entire time. But I couldn’t pass up such a tranquil scene on this misty afternoon in the Adirondacks. Rain can sure disappoint a bride, but look how it saturates the landscape with color! Dan and Michelle, your wedding would have been just as beautiful rain or shine.

I just happened upon this photo from a friend’s wedding this summer and had to share. No, not a wedding guest unfortunately – that would have made for a great story. It was bring your pet to the winery day, and this guy not only brought his pet but dressed him for the occasion!

President Obama was in the Albany area today speaking with students and faculty at Hudson Valley Community College about the economy. Needless to say, it was very neat to see and photograph the President in person – up close this time! Here’s just about every possible angle from the risers set up for the media.

And “the media” as they (we) wait:

Vice President Joe Biden spoke at Syracuse University today during a panel discussion with higher education experts. Here’s my patriotic image of the day!

I LOVE going to the New York State Fair. I love the people watching, the ice cold 25 cent chocolate milk, the scary midway rides and Gianelli sausage. I love watching the 4-Hers groom their prize winning goats, cattle and miniature horses. Watch the artists build their giant sandcastles and kids run wide-eyed from the fun houses. Never a shortage of pictures to be made!
