Mom, here’s my public apology for not thinking to have you accompany me to Jazz Fest Saturday! What was I thinking?! Maybe he’ll spot this photo and write a song in your honor or something :)

I cannot get over what an incredible voice Catherine Russell has. I’m not even sure how to describe it besides intoxicating. Daughter to jazz legend Luis Russell, she performed last night at the Palace Theatre in Syracuse where I could have stayed all night listening to her sing! It was a great assignment to say the least. When I’m not working in Syracuse, I enjoy taking pictures close to home. The dance department at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Geneva has hosted some pretty neat guest artists in the past, and their most recent was no exception. New York City based Jody Sperling and her Time Lapse Dance was colorful, engaging and, well, really fun to photograph! I’ll let the pictures tell the rest.
